Voting Info
It is very important to vote by April 1st in the 2025 Consolidated Election In person, early or mail-in. See how here.
In the 12 years that I have been Highway Commissioner I have earned for the same or less than my predecessor.
Here are the facts:
- The salary of the Nunda Township Highway Commissioner was reduced by 4%, 12 years ago, just before I took office, and it was subsequently frozen for four years.
- For the following four years, there was a modest 1% increase each year.
- Over the last four years, however, the salary has remained frozen with no increases.
- As a result, over the past 12 years, my salary has only increased by 4%, and that 4% only brought my salary back to what my predecessor before me was making.
- The cost of living has risen by 40% during the same period.
- For the upcoming term, a 5% one-time salary increase has been approved, after which the salary will again be frozen for the next three years.
- Additionally, a $7,000 annual bonus has been established for attending monthly meetings.
It is important to note that this salary increase and bonus were proposed, voted on, and approved by my opponent, acting as a trustee —fully aware that he was planning to run for the position of Highway Commissioner. I had no vote or input during the meeting where these salary changes were set.
All of this is a matter of public record and can be verified by anyone interested in the facts.
Let’s focus on the facts, not misrepresentations, and keep the discussion centered on what’s best for our community.
